12 Reasons for 12-megapixel

So, it has come to pass that mobile phones and their integrated cameras have finally caught up to the dedicated compact cameras' megapixel count. What we're looking at today is the Sony Ericsson Satio and the Samsung Pixon12 - both equipped with 12-megapixel sensors. Both companies have lived up to their delivery promise, but whether it can live up to the imaging standards usually expected of this megapixel count is altogether another issue. And, would such 12-megapixel camera phones be a suitable replacement for point-and-shoot cameras of similar imaging resolution? There are a lot of factors to consider, such as the sensor size, white balance, imaging features and many more.

So, what it really boils down to is whether you'll go for the convergence route and just get the all-in-one device, or opt for multiple gadgets for specific situations and tasks. To aid you in your decision, we put both the Satio and the Pixon12 to the test.
